The Game Changer - A PMUnderground Special Announcement

PMCC Article Version 2.0: Updated with information on Blacklisted 2 and added Low Tier City 4 to the circuit.

We at PMTV pride ourselves on our role as a cornerstone for the Project M community. We are always working hard to produce top caliber content through our polished streams, detailed articles, beautiful videos, and more. PM Underground serves as a content hub for all sorts of community projects, and PMTV is involved with PM communities all over the world. Despite Project M’s immense growth and momentum over the last year, official support for Project M through various streams and stream hosts has waned. Right now, in the face of adversity, PM is still the biggest it has ever been, and we want to make sure everyone knows it.

We want to go bigger.

With this in mind, we are proud to announce an exciting undertaking that will put Project M on a continental scale. This effort is unprecedented in the Project M community, in both its ambition and breadth. We are working in collaboration with Project M communities across both the United States and Canada, as well as with the community at large. We aim to bring you a spectacular opportunity to compete with the best of the best, watch high level play on your favorite streams, and unite the community as one cohesive unit dedicated to the game we all love. And we want this party to go all year long.

PMTV and Project M Underground are proud to announce the…

FAQ

Q: How does the PM Championship Circuit work?

A: Players that attend Circuit Qualifiers and perform well will receive Circuit Points based on their performance and the number of attendees at the event. Players with the highest scores after the last Qualifier will receive cash prizes and priority seeding for the Grand Finale event.

Q: What is this mysterious Grand Finale?

A: It is a mystery! When details are finalized, we will announce the event officially. However, we guarantee that the Grand Finale will be more awesome than any of the other events in the Circuit. In the meantime, tighten your wrist straps and attend as many Circuit events as possible!

Q: Why is [insert event here] on the Circuit?

A: We tried to make sure that there was at least one event within reach of every major Project M region, so players who could not afford the time or cost of travel would get a chance to participate in the Circuit. We favored large events that top players were sure to attend, in order to provide the best possible experience for attendees and viewers alike. There were many additional factors that went into the decision, but the primary concern was accessibility.

Q: Why is [insert event here] NOT on the Circuit?

A: Some events have not been announced or planned this early in the year, so it is possible some major Project M events were overlooked. Other event organizers could not be contacted or were uninterested in participating. Ultimately, to keep things fair to players from all regions, the same number of events from each region would need to be included, resulting in some tournaments being chosen over others. There were many additional factors that went into deciding what would or would not end up on the Circuit. Hopefully we will be able to improve the Circuit in future years with support for more tournaments, better tournaments, and even overseas tournaments.

Q: How are Circuit Point scores calculated?

A: For the PM Championship circuit, the scoring algorithm for Points is dependent on tournament size.
